The 500 Project (Text Version)

What is it?

The idea of it is simple.
If 500 people gave just $10 a month for at least the first year of our project we would have enough to start a new church in the heart of one of the largest mission fields in the world – Northwest America.

Now, if you do the math, 500 times $10 is only $5000/mo. Some people have asked, is that enough? And the answer is no, it’s not. Most of our funding comes from other groups and from churches but it’s simply not enough to get us all the way to where we need to be financially in order to get this project off the ground.

This is where you come in.

I want to ask you today, to consider partnering with us, to change lives by becoming one of “The 500”. At just $10 a month you can partner with us and make a difference for the kingdom.

Why does it matter?

100 years ago it would have hard to find very many people who hadn’t ever stepped inside a church. Every town or community had a church and church was considered a part of everyday life in America. Over the last 100 years the population of the United States has tripled.

Unfortunately, churches haven’t kept up with the population, there are actually 1/3rd fewer churches today than there were just 50 years ago. That means there are 1/3 fewer places people can go for help, 1/3 few places serving the community, 1/3 few places reaching out with a message of hope.

More and more people are growing up without every having known or felt the love of Christ in their community and Church has stopped being a part of everyday life of most Americans. Many American have never even stepped foot inside a church.. There are children and families that have no idea the there is a God who loves and cares about them deeply.

“Planting new churches is the most effective evangelistic methodology known under heaven.” ~ C. Peter Wagner

The single best way to reach people for Christ in America today is to start new churches. Which is why we are committed to starting a new church, right here, in the United States, in Vancouver, Washington

Do we really need more churches?

Check out this video to get an idea of how much Vancouver and Clark County (where Vancouver is located) needs churches.
